Police arrest criminal suspects and a special police officer in Limassol
Limassol police have detained three Georgian nationals, aged 38, 48, and 49, for their alleged involvement in at least ten burglaries across areas including Panthea, Agios Athanasios, and Potamos Germasogeias. During a search of their apartment on March 15, 2026, authorities discovered specialist tools used to bypass security doors, along with stolen jewelry and watches. The suspects have been remanded in custody for eight days to facilitate the investigation into charges including conspiracy, criminal organization membership, and illegal stay in the Republic. Separately, an arrest warrant has been issued for a special police officer serving in Limassol in connection with an attack on a mobile traffic camera operator. This incident occurred on the Paphos-Limassol highway on the morning of March 12, 2026. A 37-year-old suspect is already in custody regarding the same case, where the operator was reportedly sprayed with an irritant and his company vehicle was damaged. Investigations into both unrelated matters remain ongoing.
