Arrests made following two separate violent incidents in Limassol
Police in Limassol have conducted multiple arrests related to two distinct violent incidents occurring months apart. In the first case, a 28-year-old man was arrested on March 14, 2026, for his suspected role in a December 26, 2025, brawl in the Agia Zoni area, which previously led to the detention of 12 other foreign nationals. This incident involved approximately 15 people using metal bars and cricket bats, resulting in three injuries. In a separate event on March 13, 2026, in the Agia Fyla area, a group of about seven masked, armed individuals forcibly entered a residence occupied by Syrian nationals. The residents managed to repel the attackers and detain one suspect. Police subsequently arrested a 19-year-old on Saturday morning, followed by two additional suspects aged 18 and 20. Investigations are ongoing for both cases to identify remaining participants and establish the motives behind the violence.
