Mother sentenced in Thessaloniki for forcibly cutting daughter's hair

A 33-year-old woman in Evosmos, Thessaloniki, was sentenced to 22 months in prison by a local misdemeanor court for physically assaulting her 16-year-old daughter. The incident occurred between Tuesday night and Wednesday afternoon during a domestic dispute. The mother allegedly cut her daughter's hair by force, an act for which her 19-year-old son was also arrested. Authorities were alerted to the scene by a friend of the 16-year-old victim. The teenager was subsequently transported to AHEPA Hospital and placed under protective custody. Both the mother and her son were charged with domestic bodily harm, threats, and illegal violence. While the initial court proceedings led to the 22-month sentence for the mother, conflicting reports noted that a prior hearing had resulted in the postponement of the trial pending a forensic report, with both defendants held in custody at that time.
