Cyprus records increase in building permits for first eleven months of 2025

The Statistical Service of Cyprus announced that 7,340 building permits were issued from January to November 2025, marking a 13.9% increase compared to the 6,442 permits issued during the same period in 2024. The total value of these permits rose by 31.8%, while the total area grew by 35.3%. Projections indicate a 36.1% increase in the number of residential units to be constructed. For November 2025 alone, 850 permits were issued, representing a total value of €382.9 million and a surface area of 333,400 square meters, covering the construction of 1,631 residential units. Since July 1, 2024, the authority for issuing these permits has been transferred from municipalities and district administrations to the District Self-Government Organizations (EOA). All licensing procedures are currently processed through the new integrated information system known as Hippodamos.
