Two arrests made following robbery in Ayia Napa
Police in Famagusta have arrested two individuals, a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old, in connection with a robbery incident that occurred on March 11, 2026. According to the police investigation, a 20-year-old man reported that two unknown persons approached him while he was sitting on a bench in a square in Ayia Napa and stole his wallet at knifepoint. While some media reports initially stated the incident happened at 6:30 p.m., others reported the time as 8:00 p.m. Following the investigation, a 17-year-old was arrested on a judicial warrant and subsequently remanded in custody for seven days by the Famagusta District Court. Shortly thereafter, an 18-year-old suspect was also arrested based on evidence gathered during the ongoing investigation by the Famagusta Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
