Two workers seriously injured after scaffolding collapse in Paralimni

On Thursday, March 12, 2026, at approximately 12:00, a serious workplace accident occurred at a construction site in Paralimni. Two men, aged 64 and 56, were working on scaffolding about two meters high when the structure collapsed, causing them to fall to the ground. Both individuals sustained head injuries and multiple fractures in the incident. Following the accident, they were transported by ambulance to the hospital for urgent medical care. The 64-year-old was admitted to the neurosurgery department at Nicosia General Hospital. The 56-year-old was transferred to the intensive care unit at Famagusta General Hospital. Their health conditions are currently described by medical staff as serious. The Paralimni police station has initiated an investigation into the circumstances of the structural failure.
