Art exhibition by Rinos Stefani at Gloria Gallery in Nicosia

The Gloria Gallery in Nicosia is hosting an art exhibition by Rinos Stefani titled 'The Man Who Carries Holes'. The event is scheduled to open on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 7:30 pm and will run until April 3. Opening remarks will be delivered by visual artist Christos Foukaras and composer Evagoras Karageorgis. The exhibition is organized into three distinct sections: 'Perforated', 'Re Alexis', and 'Landscapes'. According to Niki Loizidi, Professor Emeritus at the Athens School of Fine Arts, the works explore themes of memory, conflict, and Cypriot history. A central motif throughout the display is the 'load bearer', depicted in various states of burden, including carrying stones, grenades, and sacks of holes. The artist utilizes these symbols to comment on social and historical conditions. The exhibition provides a critical look at the development of Cyprus through the lens of individual and collective struggle.
