Limassol Marathon 2026 to take place on March 21-22

The 2026 Limassol Marathon, rebranded as the XM Limassol Marathon, is scheduled for March 21 and 22, 2026. A press conference held on March 12 at the Panos Solomonides Cultural Center marked the countdown to the event, which features six different race routes along the Limassol coastline. While initial reports estimated over 17,000 participants from 68 countries, subsequent data from organizer Spyros Spyrou of Eleven Blue Events indicates approximately 6,000 total participants across the four main competitive races on Sunday. This year marks the first time international participants outnumber local runners, with a 36% increase in foreign entries compared to the previous year. The event supports the Pancyprian Multiple Sclerosis Association, aiming to raise awareness and provide assistance to those living with the condition. The marathon features a full 42km race with over 1,200 runners, a half-marathon with 2,200 participants, a 10km race, and a 5km city race. Additionally, the event includes a 5km corporate race and a 1km children's race on Saturday, March 21. Despite some cancellations from Israeli runners, organizers highlight the event's growing role in promoting Limassol as a sports tourism destination.
