Direct Democracy Cyprus movement begins primary vote for parliamentary candidates
The Direct Democracy Cyprus movement has initiated a vote to select its 56 candidates for the upcoming parliamentary elections in May. The voting process began at midnight on March 12 and is scheduled to conclude on March 14 at 23:59. Citizens are participating in the candidate selection through the digital platform AGORA. According to the movement, this marks the first time such a digital process has been used for candidate selection in the history of the Republic of Cyprus. The movement claims that early participation levels have been high, though no specific figures were released. The final list of the 56 candidates will be formally announced on Sunday at 18:00. The official announcement event will take place at the Saint George Hall in Limassol, where the results will be presented to the public and media representatives.
