4.8 magnitude earthquake strikes near Karditsa

On the day of the event, shortly after 12:18, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 occurred near the region of Karditsa. The Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory of Athens reported the seismic activity. There is a discrepancy regarding the location and depth of the epicenter; one report places it 11 kilometers northeast of Raptopoulo, Evrytania, at a depth of 13.7 kilometers, while another indicates it occurred southeast of Anthiro, Karditsa, at a depth of 10 kilometers. The tremor was widely felt across several regions, including areas as far as Patras. Local authorities and media outlets have confirmed there are currently no reports of damages or structural issues. No casualties have been recorded at this stage.
