Romania defeats Cyprus in women's basketball qualifiers

The Romanian women's national basketball team defeated Cyprus 75-60 during the fourth round of the FIBA EuroBasket Women 2027 qualifiers. Cyprus started strongly, leading 19-17 at the end of the first quarter after initially jumping to a 12-4 lead. However, Romania dominated the second quarter with a 14-0 run, establishing a 42-21 lead by halftime. Despite a difficult second period where Cyprus struggled offensively for six minutes, the visitors improved in the second half. Pangalos led the scoring for Cyprus with 25 points and a performance rating of 20. Romania extended its lead to as many as 25 points early in the third quarter before finishing the match with a 15-point victory.
