School bus and car collision in Cyprus leaves 13 injured

On Tuesday, March 10, a collision occurred between a school minibus and a passenger car on the Agios Epifanios to Palaichori road. The incident resulted in 13 injuries, including 10 students, the minibus driver, another driver, and one passenger. All victims were transported to the Nicosia General Hospital, where they received medical assessment; officials reported that none of the injuries are considered life-threatening. The head of the Palaichori Orini community, Tasos Michailidis, reported that the first ambulance arrived at 14:32, but additional medical units were delayed as they had to be dispatched from Nicosia. Local residents and passing drivers provided initial assistance to the students at the scene. The road remained closed in both directions for approximately two hours following the crash. The ministers of health and education visited the hospital to monitor the situation. State health official Charalambos Charilaou confirmed that all patients are receiving necessary care in the emergency departments.
