Temporary restoration of coastal walkway in Paphos
The Municipality of Paphos has completed a temporary restoration of a section of the coastal promenade that experienced soil subsidence in front of the Almyra Hotel. Acting Mayor Angelos Onisiforou stated that the intervention was performed immediately to ensure the safety of pedestrians and maintain access to the waterfront. The municipal authorities emphasized that while this measure provides current security, it is not a permanent solution. The city is currently drafting plans for a comprehensive and long-term structural repair. These future works will account for specific coastal erosion phenomena affecting the area. Municipal services will continue to monitor the site to ensure it remains safe and functional for both residents and visitors. No specific completion date for the permanent project was provided at this time.
