Pafos court sentences man to two years in prison for fatal traffic collision
The Pafos District Court has sentenced a 41-year-old man to two years in prison for causing death through reckless or dangerous driving. The fatal collision occurred on December 14, 2025, at the intersection of Tassos Papadopoulos Avenue and Andreas Vlamis Street in Pafos. The victim was 23-year-old Petko Svetlozar from Bulgaria, who was riding a motorcycle that collided with the defendant's car. A 45-year-old female passenger in the car was treated at the Pafos General Hospital and discharged. Following the crash, police arrested the 41-year-old driver on a judicial warrant. He was also charged with illegal residency in the Republic of Cyprus. While a breathalyzer test for alcohol was negative, the driver tested positive for drugs during a preliminary roadside screening.
