ACEMPI president participates in corporate governance discussion in Nicosia

Ioannis Georgoulas, president of the Association of Electronic Money and Payment Institutions (ACEMPI), participated in a panel discussion during the official launch of the Cyprus Institute of Directors and Corporate Governance (CyIoDCG) in Nicosia. Georgoulas, who serves as a non-executive director at ECOMMBX Ltd, joined a panel session titled “Radical Geoeconomic Shifts: Governance at the Frontline of Board Value.” The discussion analyzed the changing requirements for boards of directors amidst significant geoeconomic shifts and global economic uncertainty. Participants emphasized that boards must transition from traditional roles of compliance and supervision toward more independent, strategic, and multidimensional decision-making processes. Key topics addressed during the event included capital allocation in volatile markets and strategies for strengthening organizational resilience. Furthermore, the speakers examined the balance between protecting stakeholder interests and fostering sustainable long-term value for shareholders. The event highlighted the essential role of robust corporate governance in navigating current international economic challenges.
