Real estate developers and Limassol district authority discuss licensing delays
On Monday, March 9, representatives from the Real Estate Development Association met with the President of the Limassol District Self-Government Organization (EOA), Giannis Tsouloftas, to address systemic delays in building permit processing. The delegation included Association President Giannis Misirlis, board members, and General Director Mersina Isidorou. Participants stated that despite efforts to accelerate processes, administrative delays remain significant, sometimes exceeding the actual construction time for projects. Giannis Misirlis emphasized that these delays are a primary factor exacerbating the current housing crisis by restricting supply. The association argued that streamlining licensing is essential to meet rising residential demand and ensure market stability. The meeting concluded with a call for ongoing cooperation between the EOA and industry professionals to develop sustainable solutions. Both parties acknowledged the persistence of the issue despite previous attempts to improve efficiency.
