Premiere of documentary on perimenopause set for March 2026
The documentary The (M) Factor 2: Before the Pause is scheduled to premiere on March 28, 2026, at the Discovery Hall of the University of Nicosia. The event is co-organized by AIPFE Cyprus-Women of Europe and Menopause Support Cyprus. This film serves as a prequel to the previous documentary, The (M) Factor: Shredding the Silence on Menopause, which was screened in 1,000 cities and at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Directed by Jacoba Atlas and produced by Tamsen Fadal, Denise Pines, and Joanne LaMarca Mathisen, the new project focuses on perimenopause. It aims to address the diagnostic challenges and misconceptions surrounding the stage that can begin in a woman's mid-30s and last up to a decade. The film features personal testimonies from women and perspectives from men to explore the impact of this phase on relationships and families. The producers state that the film serves as a resource for validation and a practical guide for those affected.
