Nicosia hosts the 25th European Throwing Cup

The 25th European Throwing Cup is scheduled to take place on March 14 and 15, 2026, at the GSP National Athletics Stadium in Nicosia. The event features 284 athletes from 35 countries competing across 16 throwing disciplines. The host nation, Cyprus, is represented by a team of 13 athletes, consisting of eight men and five women. Competition will utilize all three throwing venues within the stadium complex. Cypriot medal hopes center on 20-year-old hammer throwers Iosif Kesidis and Valentina Savva in the under-23 category. Kesidis is a European U23 champion, while Savva is a national record holder. The event is supported by XM as the primary sponsor. Technical meetings are set for March 13 to finalize start lists and group distributions.
