Cypriot athletes to compete in the 25th European Throwing Cup
Cypriot hammer throwers Iosif Kesidis and Valentina Savva are set to compete in the under-23 category at the 25th European Throwing Cup. Both athletes are 21 years old and currently hold the Cypriot national records for their respective genders. Iosif Kesidis achieved a record-breaking throw of 77.32 meters earlier this season, qualifying him for the European Athletics Championships. Valentina Savva, who trains in California, holds a personal best of 70.22 meters and is the only female athlete from Cyprus to have surpassed the 70-meter mark. The pair have both previously medaled at various youth and junior European and world championships. Kesidis is scheduled to start his competition at 10:00 on Saturday. Their participation marks the primary focus of the Cypriot team for this upcoming event.
