Cyprus presidency reschedules informal EU ministerial meetings
The Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU has announced new dates for several informal ministerial meetings that were initially scheduled for March but postponed due to regional developments impacting flight schedules. The Informal Research and Innovation Council will be held via videoconference on March 31. Several other meetings have been rescheduled for in-person attendance in Cyprus: the Telecommunications Council on April 29-30, European Affairs on May 10-11, and the Eurogroup meeting on March 22. Furthermore, the Informal ECOFIN meeting is set for May 22-23, followed by the Culture Council on June 1-2, the Cohesion Policy Council on June 4-5, and the Defence Council on June 7-8. Technical-level meetings originally planned for March were also transitioned to a videoconference format. Presidency spokesperson Stella Michael stated that the administration acted with flexibility to accommodate these changes. The adjustments ensure the continuation of the European agenda despite the travel disruptions.
