Students from Akrotiri to relocate following drone strike evacuation

Following a drone strike on the British Akrotiri air base last week, an evacuation order remains in effect until this Friday. As a result, the village's nursery and primary schools have been closed. Local parents requested a temporary relocation for all students to avoid the difficulties of distance learning and to keep the children together with their teachers. On Monday, reports confirmed that classes will resume at a primary school and nursery in the village of Kolossi, located west of Ypsonas. Displaced residents are currently residing in Limassol hotels and the Saint George monastery near Erimi. The decision follows coordination between the Parents' Association, the Kourion School Board, and the local municipality. Education officials confirmed that these measures aim to ensure students do not miss further instruction.
