Increase in motor vehicle registrations in Cyprus for February 2026

Data from the Statistical Service of Cyprus shows that motor vehicle registrations reached 4,670 in February 2026, marking a 24.3% increase compared to 3,757 in February 2025. For the January-February 2026 period, total registrations reached 9,020, up 15.1% from the previous year. Saloon car registrations rose by 23.8% in February to 3,600 vehicles. For the first two months, 6,917 saloon cars were registered, of which 2,401 were new and 4,516 were used. Rental car registrations saw a slight decline, falling to 502 units. Regarding fuel types for the year to date, gasoline cars decreased to 36.2%, diesel to 8.9%, and electric to 5.2%. Conversely, the share of hybrid vehicles grew significantly from 43.9% to 49.6%. Additionally, bus registrations increased from 20 to 44 in the same two-month period.
