Apollon Limassol initiates legal action against investor Craig Gabriel

Apollon Limassol has initiated legal proceedings against British businessman Craig Gabriel for breach of contract and fraudulent misrepresentation. The club is seeking 9 million euros in damages, alleging that Gabriel provided false information regarding his wealth and financial capacity to invest in the club. The dispute centers on a failed deal initially valued at 15 million pounds, which was promoted with the involvement of former England international Emile Heskey. Heskey, who was intended to become the club's director of football, is not accused of any wrongdoing but is being sought for testimony regarding his interactions with Gabriel. The legal battle is currently registered in the Cypriot court system, with additional filings made at the UK Supreme Court. While Gabriel maintains he will be vindicated, the club asserts that no funds were ever transferred to their accounts. The investigation aims to clarify the extent of the misleading financial documentation provided by Gabriel during the negotiation process.
