Teacher killed during student prank in Georgia

A 40-year-old teacher, Jason Hughes, died in Gainesville, Georgia, after being struck by a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Jaden Wallace. The incident occurred during a student prank known as 'toilet papering,' which had been an annual tradition for students at the school where Hughes taught. According to reports, Hughes confronted the students outside his home, at which point he reportedly tripped and fell into the road, leading to the fatal collision with Wallace's car. The pranks followed a point-based system where participants gained points for decorating teachers' homes and lost points if caught. Authorities have charged Jaden Wallace with first-degree vehicular homicide, reckless driving, trespassing, and littering. Several other students involved in the prank were also arrested on lesser charges. If convicted, Wallace faces a prison sentence ranging from three to 15 years.
