31-year-old arrested in Paphos following motorcycle theft and assault
On Sunday afternoon, a 27-year-old man reported to police that his motorcycle was stolen from outside his apartment building in Paphos. At approximately 6:00 p.m. the same day, the owner located his vehicle on Evagora Pallikaridi Street. When he attempted to retrieve the motorcycle, he was assaulted by two unknown individuals who struck him and knocked him to the ground before fleeing on the bike. The complainant managed to intercept one of the suspects nearby, though the motorcycle was not recovered. Police arrived at the scene and identified the detained individual as a 31-year-old man. He was arrested under a court warrant on charges including conspiracy to commit a felony, robbery, theft, assault causing bodily harm, and malicious property damage. The 27-year-old victim was treated at Paphos General Hospital for a scalp haematoma and abrasions. The Paphos Criminal Investigation Department is currently investigating the incident.
