Emmanouil Karalis wins pole vault event in Rouen
Greek athlete Emmanouil Karalis secured first place at the pole vault meeting in Rouen, France. The 24-year-old athlete successfully cleared the height of 6.06 meters on his first attempt. Following his victory, Karalis attempted to clear 6.20 meters twice, which would have set a new national record for Greece. He failed both attempts, with his best effort seeing the bar fall after contact with his chest. This performance follows his recent achievement of clearing 6.17 meters at the Panhellenic Indoor Athletics Championships. Karalis maintains his competitive form as he continues his current season.
