Israeli strikes on oil facilities in Tehran cause widespread fires and infrastructure damage

On the night of Saturday, March 7, 2026, Israeli military forces conducted a series of airstrikes targeting oil storage facilities in Tehran and the Alborz region, including the Shahran oil depot. The attacks caused massive fires and resulted in oil runoff flooding into the city's sewer and drainage systems, leading to explosions in northern Tehran.
