Ilias Charalambous steps down as FCSB head coach

Ilias Charalambous has officially resigned from his position as head coach of FCSB following a 3-1 home defeat against Universitatea Cluj. The Cypriot manager announced his decision at a post-match press conference, revealing that he had already made the choice to step down before the game started. Charalambous took charge on March 30, 2023, and led the team for nearly two years. During his tenure, he managed 170 matches, recording 88 wins, 41 draws, and 41 losses. His achievements include winning two Romanian league titles and two Romanian Super Cups. He stated that the team requires a fresh approach to achieve its European qualification goals. FCSB currently sits in 7th place in the league table after 30 matches. While the club thanked him for his contribution, his departure marks the end of a significant period for the Romanian side.
