Dimitris Giannakopoulos removes Dejan Bodiroga's banner from OAKA arena

Panathinaikos BC owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos ordered the removal of Dejan Bodiroga's jersey banner from the OAKA indoor arena. The decision was announced during a recent game against Olympiacos at the Peace and Friendship Stadium (SEF). Giannakopoulos stated that the action was a protest against the officiating standards in Euroleague games. The team management expressed significant dissatisfaction with referee decisions during matches against Paris and Olympiacos. Giannakopoulos accused Euroleague President Dejan Bodiroga of failing to address systemic issues in the officiating. He further justified the move by claiming that current league leadership is indifferent to the club's efforts and the fans' dedication. Panathinaikos officials announced they intend to confront the competition organizers for the remainder of the season. Bodiroga, a former Panathinaikos player, is currently the top official in the Euroleague administration.
