Cyprus police commemorate fallen officers
Cyprus Police Chief Themistos Arnaoutis issued a statement marking the International Day of Remembrance and Honor for Fallen Police Officers. He acknowledged the dedication of personnel working in high-stress environments and maintaining public order. The commemoration honors officers who died during the 1963-1964 events and the 1974 war, as well as those who lost their lives in the daily line of duty. The Chief specifically addressed the two missing police officers, expressing hope for information that would bring closure to their families. Arnaoutis highlighted that the service of these individuals remains a significant part of the institution's history. He emphasized the ongoing professional commitment of current police staff to public safety and law enforcement. The event serves as both a remembrance of historical conflicts and a recognition of modern policing responsibilities.
