Retaliatory strike reported on Al Dhafra base following school bombing in Iran

On February 28, an attack on a primary school in Minab, Iran, resulted in over 150 to 175 casualties, including many children. On March 6, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed responsibility for a drone and missile strike on the U.S. Al Dhafra airbase in the United Arab Emirates, asserting it was retaliation for the school bombing. While Iranian authorities blame U.S. forces, both the United States and Israel have denied deliberate targeting of the school. The U.S. Department of Defense is currently investigating the incident. A New York Times report suggested the school might have been hit accidentally during an American attack on nearby Revolutionary Guard naval facilities. U.S. officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and press secretary Karoline Leavitt, have maintained that there was no intentional targeting of civilian infrastructure.
