Escalating tensions and contradictory reports in the Iran-UAE conflict

Tensions in the Middle East have escalated following reports of military exchanges between the United Arab Emirates and Iran. While Iranian Revolutionary Guards claimed they targeted the U.S.-operated Al Dhafra airbase in response to a strike on a school in Minab on February 28 that reportedly killed over 150 people, UAE officials and the U.S. have denied involvement in that incident. UAE authorities explicitly denied allegations circulating in Israeli media that they conducted a military strike against Iranian desalination facilities. The UAE Defense Ministry reported that since the onset of the conflict, they have detected 121 UAVs, intercepting 119, and 16 ballistic missiles, intercepting 15. UAE Ambassador Jamal Al Musharak stated that the country will not participate in attacks against Iran from its soil. Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing regarding the February 28 school bombing, with the U.S. stating they are looking into the matter despite initial denials.
