Cypriot Finance Minister to attend Eurogroup and chair ECOFIN meetings in Brussels

Cypriot Minister of Finance Makis Keravnos will travel to Brussels on Sunday, March 8, to participate in upcoming European financial meetings. On March 9, he will attend the Eurogroup session, which begins with a review of macroeconomic developments in the Eurozone. The agenda includes the examination of Belgium's 2026 budget plan and a discussion on digital finance solutions for European markets. Ministers will also assess the impact of energy price fluctuations on the Eurozone economy amid current geopolitical conditions. Additionally, Eurogroup President Kyriakos Pierakakis will provide an update on preparations for the Eurozone Summit scheduled for March 20. On March 10, Minister Keravnos will chair the ECOFIN Council meeting. Proceedings will commence with a working breakfast focused on current economic issues. The session will conclude with an orientation debate regarding a package of proposals for the further development of financial sectors.
