Exhibition 'Sector 2: Nicosia' to be held in Athens

The exhibition titled 'Sector 2: Nicosia' is scheduled to take place at the Public Tobacco Factory in Athens from March 11 to May 24, 2026. Organized as part of the Cultural Program of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the event is held under the auspices of the Hellenic Parliament. It is produced in collaboration with the Leventis Municipal Museum of Nicosia. The exhibition explores the history of the Green Line in Nicosia, which has divided the city for 60 years. Using an experimental museological approach, it combines historical research with immersive experiences to document the city's partition into zones overseen by the United Nations Peacekeeping Force. The initiative aims to highlight culture as a tool for historical awareness and European cooperation. This presentation is part of a broader cultural strategy intended to support the Cyprus Presidency's goals for a stronger and more resilient European Union.
