Cyprus repatriates 97 foreign nationals
On the current date, Cypriot authorities, including the Police Department for Aliens and Migration and the Deputy Ministry of Migration, repatriated 97 foreign nationals. Reports regarding the total vary slightly, with some media outlets citing 96 individuals and others 97. Since January 1, 2026, a total of 309 individuals have arrived in Cyprus illegally. During the same period, 1,648 foreign nationals residing illegally in the country were returned to their home countries through voluntary and forced return procedures. The authorities stated that they are continuing efforts to maximize the number of repatriations of third-country nationals living in Cyprus without legal status. These operations are conducted in coordination with relevant state services. The government maintains a focus on controlling illegal migration levels through these ongoing measures.
