The noise caused temporary panic among the public, leading to initial fears of an emergency related to nearby embassies. Local media contacted the Police, who confirmed that no official alarms had been triggered and no emergency incident was occurring. It was later determined through student testimonies that the sounds were generated by a group of students using high-powered loudspeakers. The incident was identified as a prank.
