Eurostat reports on 2024 EU vehicle distribution
The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) released data on vehicle distribution across the European Union for 2024, highlighting significant geographical disparities in electric passenger vehicle adoption. In Cyprus, electric passenger vehicles accounted for 0.51% of the total passenger fleet, while the country ranked among the top 15 EU regions for commercial vehicle presence at approximately 17%. Northern European regions maintained the highest rates of electric vehicle adoption. Flevoland in the Netherlands led with 22.1%, marking a 5 percentage point increase from 2023. Other regions exceeding 10% include Stockholm (14.4%), Copenhagen (13.3%), Vlaams-Brabant (12.9%), and Midtjylland (12.6%). Additional regions surpassing the 10% threshold are Sjælland, the Region of Southern Denmark, Nordjylland, and Utrecht. Eurostat noted that commercial vehicle distribution, encompassing trucks, tractors, and special vehicles, remains more uniform across the union.
