Cyprus tourism updates following ITB Berlin exhibition

Deputy Minister of Tourism Kostas Koumis led the Cypriot delegation to the ITB Berlin tourism exhibition, held from March 3 to March 5, 2026. The discussions centered on the recent disruption of flight programs to Cyprus caused by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. Koumis announced that all European airlines are scheduled to return to their normal flight programs by Sunday, though some have already resumed operations. He clarified that airlines based in the Middle East are an exception and have not yet restored full service. During the event, the deputy minister held meetings with travel agents and aviation industry representatives to assess the impact on the upcoming summer season. According to official statements, no tour operators have indicated plans to cancel or reduce travel packages to the country. Koumis emphasized that restoring full air connectivity remains the primary priority for the Ministry. He characterized Cyprus as a safe destination despite the challenges posed by the regional situation.
