Flight cancellations at Cyprus airports following regional geopolitical tensions

On March 6, Larnaca International Airport reported 39 flight cancellations, consisting of 22 arrivals and 17 departures, while Paphos Airport reported no cancellations. This followed a more significant disruption on March 5, when Larnaca saw 45 cancellations and Paphos reported 10. The disruptions are linked to the ongoing military conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel. Air traffic between Israel and Cyprus is gradually resuming, with 11 flights scheduled between Tel Aviv and Larnaca on March 6. Airlines including British Airways and easyJet have resumed operations to the island. Furthermore, a second repatriation flight for Cypriot citizens from Dubai was scheduled for March 5, following an initial flight on March 4 that transported 182 passengers. Israeli Transportation Minister Miri Regev announced the gradual reopening of the country's airspace effective March 5.
