Iranian aircraft downed near Al Udeid base in Qatar
Two Iranian Su-24 bombers were shot down on Monday while approaching the Al Udeid air base in Qatar. The incident occurred approximately two minutes before the aircraft were projected to reach the site, which serves as a major hub for about 10,000 U.S. troops. Reports from CNN, citing anonymous sources, indicate the bombers were armed with bombs and precision-guided munitions. The aircraft reportedly failed to respond to radio communications before being intercepted by Qatari F-15 fighter jets. The wreckage fell within Qatari territorial waters. Search and rescue operations for the aircrews are currently ongoing. The intended targets included the military base and the Ras Laffan natural gas processing complex.
