Chateau Punin plants first pinot noir vineyards in Parekklisia
Chateau Punin, a winery founded in 2004, held a planting event for the first pinot noir vineyards at its location in Parekklisia, Cyprus. The ceremony was attended by government representatives, including Andreas Gregoriou from the Ministry of Agriculture, Stelios Tsioustas from the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry, and Elina Christofidou from the Ministry of Tourism. Dona Hadjiantona, manager of the winery, spoke about the history and development of the company since its inception. Project manager Andrey Savchenko highlighted the technical challenge of cultivating the pinot noir variety within the local terroir. The ceremony concluded with the symbolic planting of the first vine by the founder of Punin Group, Dmitry Punin. Following this, guests were invited to participate in planting additional saplings. The project aims to integrate this international grape variety into the Cypriot wine industry.
