European nations deploy naval assets to Cyprus for regional security

Several European countries are coordinating to deploy naval assets to the Eastern Mediterranean to support Cyprus following threats from Iranian drones. France has moved its nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, Charles de Gaulle, to the region, supported by the frigate Languedoc. Spain has committed the frigate Cristóbal Colón to provide air defense and assist in potential civilian evacuations. The Netherlands is considering a request to deploy the air defense frigate HNLMS Evertsen to join the French carrier strike group, a proposal currently under review by the Dutch parliament.
