Azerbaijan reports drone strikes in Nakhchivan near Iranian border
On Thursday, Azerbaijan accused Iran of launching two drone strikes against its territory in the Nakhchivan exclave. According to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, one drone impacted the Nakhchivan International Airport, while the second landed near a school. Local government sources reported that at least two people were injured during the incident, which also triggered a fire at the airport terminal. The site of the explosions is approximately 10 kilometers from the Iranian border. Baku formally summoned the Iranian ambassador to deliver a protest and demanded an explanation for the attack. Azerbaijan has reserved the right to implement appropriate response measures in the future. Iran has not yet provided an official comment regarding the allegations.
