University of Nicosia researcher presents at final DEUCE project conference

On February 19-20, 2026, Eva Manolova, a research associate at the University of Nicosia, participated as a guest speaker at the final conference of the DEUCE project in Brussels. The event was held in a hybrid format, allowing both in-person and online attendance. Manolova presented a paper titled "Bringing Brussels I bis Closer to the European Enforcement Order: Lessons Learned for the Future of Cross-Border Recognition and Enforcement of Civil and Commercial Judgments in the EU." Following the presentation, she participated in panel discussions regarding digital and algorithmic enforcement. Topics of the conference included cross-border consumer protection, access to justice in the Digital Single Market, and the alignment of national procedures with EU enforcement frameworks. The event gathered experts, policymakers, and legal practitioners from across Europe to discuss the future of cross-border civil justice. The goal was to explore methods for improving judicial cooperation and efficiency within the European Union member states. Participants emphasized the necessity of digital tools for ensuring accountability and transparency in the legal sector.
