Police arrest fourth suspect in Nicosia drug trafficking case

Cypriot authorities have arrested a 27-year-old man in connection with a major drug trafficking investigation in Nicosia. This individual is the fourth person to be detained in the case, following the discovery of over 230 kilograms of illicit substances. In addition to the narcotics, police seized a pistol, a revolver, explosive devices, and a large quantity of firecrackers during the operation. The 27-year-old was apprehended on Wednesday following an active judicial warrant and is scheduled to appear before the Nicosia District Court for a remand hearing. Prior to this arrest, police had already taken two 26-year-olds and one 34-year-old into custody. Authorities continue to search for a fifth suspect, a 30-year-old man, for whom an arrest warrant has been issued. The Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN) is actively continuing its investigation into the matter.
