Police conduct nationwide security operation
The Cyprus Police conducted a series of coordinated patrols and checks across urban areas in an effort to prevent criminal activity and maintain public order. During these operations, 373 vehicles were stopped, and 91 passengers were checked. Authorities conducted 12 inspections of commercial premises. Traffic enforcement resulted in 134 citations, including 25 for speeding, and 5 investigation files were opened regarding traffic violations. Additionally, 5 vehicles were impounded. Reports on the number of arrests vary; some sources state 14 individuals were arrested, while others report 4 arrests for offenses including conspiracy to commit a felony, assault causing grievous bodily harm, and illegal residency. The police stated that such operations are part of a daily routine to enhance public safety.
