Cyprus police conduct nationwide crime prevention operations

Cyprus police recently carried out organized patrols and inspections in key urban areas to enhance public safety and prevent serious criminal activities. During these operations, authorities inspected 373 vehicles and 91 passengers, alongside 12 checks on commercial premises. Police reported 134 traffic violations, including 25 cases of speeding, and impounded 5 vehicles. Arrest figures varied across reports, with some sources stating 14 arrests for offenses such as conspiracy to commit a felony, assault causing grievous bodily harm, and illegal stay in the Republic, while others mentioned either 3 or 4 arrests. Additionally, a separate set of data noted 311 vehicle inspections and 69 speeding violations during an earlier reporting period. The police confirmed that these coordinated preventive actions will continue daily to ensure public order. All operations aim to mitigate delinquency through increased presence and immediate operational response.
