First repatriation flight for Cypriot citizens arrives from Dubai
A Cyprus Airways repatriation flight arrived in Larnaca on Wednesday, bringing 182 Cypriot citizens back home from Dubai. The flight was organized by the Cypriot government to assist nationals stranded due to regional security concerns stemming from the conflict involving Iran and Israel. While initial reports from the foreign ministry spokesperson estimated 180 passengers, the final figure was confirmed at 182, including three infants. Government spokesperson Constantinos Letymbiotis stated that the operation prioritizes the safety of citizens and operates within narrow windows of opportunity due to airspace conditions. Authorities confirmed that the flight proceeded as scheduled despite morning security assessments. Further repatriation flights from the United Arab Emirates are planned for the following days. The government is also addressing requests from citizens who were not previously registered on the foreign ministry's platform.
