Akamas Municipality holds annual carnival parade in Coral Bay

The carnival of the Akamas Municipality, formerly known as the Peyia Carnival, concluded on Sunday with a major parade of floats and groups. The event followed the recent local government reform that changed the municipality's designation. Thousands of visitors, including local residents from the Paphos district and foreign tourists, attended the parade on Coral Bay Avenue starting at 3:00 PM. Marinos Lambrou, the Mayor of Akamas, attended the festivities and expressed satisfaction with the public turnout. Concurrently, a three-day carnival celebration hosted by the Cap St Georges Hotel & Resort in the Agios Georgios area of Peyia concluded on Saturday. This separate event included its own parade featuring hundreds of participants and various groups. Weather conditions in the Paphos province remained favorable throughout the weekend festivities. The Akamas Carnival is considered one of the most prominent annual events in the region.
