Institutional updates from the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and the Cyprus Bar Association

The Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics (CING) marked World Epilepsy Day on February 9, emphasizing its commitment to patient care through its specialized Epilepsy Centre and Department of Neurophysiology. Since 2020, the center has functioned as a collaborating member of the European Reference Network for Epilepsy Disorders (ERN-EpiCARE), facilitating international expertise for local patients. The facility is staffed by two neurologists specializing in epileptology who focus on diagnosis, MRI evaluation, and pharmacological management. Separately, on February 12, 2026, the Cyprus Bar Association (CBA) applied for institutional membership in the European Law Institute (ELI) during a meeting in Vienna. This initiative, represented by CBA Vice President Nicolas Tsardellis, aims to enhance cooperation with international legal bodies and integrate Cypriot lawyers into European research projects. The ELI, founded in 2011, is an independent non-profit organization focused on improving European legislation and legal integration. Membership is expected to grant the CBA access to specialized scientific publications and participation in shaping European legal standards. This move is intended to upgrade the institutional presence and influence of the CBA at the European level.
